Doug Simpson
Doug Simpson is the managing shareholder of the Simpson Law Firm, APC, firm emphasizing civil litigation including business, contracts, trade secrets, unfair competition, environmental, mass torts, construction, insurance, toxic personal injury, insurance cocverage, bad faith, governemental and other lawsuits. He has experience representing Fortune-500 companies as well as smaller companies, governmental entities, and individuals.
He serves has served as outside counsel or general counsel for various companies, counseling on best practices and litigation avoidance. He also prepares corporate-governance documents, and works with start-up entities.
He has handled enormously large mass tort cases, such as the defense of three of the defendants portrayed in the movie Erin Brockovich, but he also handles smaller cases.
In addition, he mediates cases. Currently he is on the mediation panels of the American Arbitration Association, the San Diego Superior Court, and the Los Angeles Superior Court.
Before forming the Simpson Law Firm, he served as a partner of two other mid-sized San Diego law firms. He graduated from California Western School of Law in San Diego, where he had served as a law review staff writer, then as executive editor. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado, at Boulder.
